Xinhua: Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party Published an Accountability Regulation

An article in Xinhua reported that, as part of its disciplinary action, the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party recently published an “Accountability Regulation” and asked all levels to be serious in carrying out the requirements. The article stated that the Regulation is to implement an accountability system which would hold the Party members accountable for their actions and subject them to supervision and inspection. The regulation consists of a total of 13 items. In number 10, the Regulation described a “lifetime accountability.” It stated that, “for those who have committed serious violations, whether they have retired, relocated, or been promoted, they are subject to investigation and inspection for their conduct during their term.” The Regulation became effective on July 8.
