2000 Shanwei Villagers Protest before the CCP’s 17th National Congress
According to the Epoch Times, on October 14, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., just before the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), about 2000 villagers from Dongzhou Town in Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, held a demonstration using banners with such slogans as "anti-corruption," "oppose lawless officials," and "return my land."
