通知强调，各级公安机关党委要进一步强化政治机关意识，严肃党的政治纪律和政治规矩，明确任务分工，压实岗位责任，强化督导检查，确保党中央政令畅通、令行禁止。各级党组织、纪检组织要强化日常管理监督，对落实党中央决策部署不坚决不得力、不担当不作为甚至擅离职守、弄虚作假、失职渎职以及造谣传谣的，要依规依纪依法严肃处理。
