More than 100 Roads Closed for Xi Jinping’s Visit to Malaysia

During Xi Jinping’s visit to Malaysia from April 15 to April 17, Malaysia police implemented high-level security measures. Authorities closed over 100 roads and locations across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, including specific stretches between Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Putrajaya, as well as routes between the hotel and the National Palace, and between the hotel and the Prime Minister’s residence in Putrajaya. Xi reportedly traveled in a bulletproof vehicle.

Malaysia’s Oriental Daily also reported that police are enforcing high-level counterterrorism measures, including the deployment of full-spectrum radio jamming vehicles to escort Xi Jinping’s motorcade throughout his visit.

Starting from April 13, local Malaysian media outlets such as Bernama TV began airing television programs produced by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) mouthpiece China Central Television (CCTV) that promote Xi Jinping and portray the CCP in a favorable light.

Malaysia is a member of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and heavily relies on Chinese investment.
